Participate in our book project!

We are actively interviewing Type C'ers who are interested in telling the story of your struggles, the origins of your Type C, and any strategies that have helped you.  We can keep identifying details private. The time commitment is an hour-long interview over Zoom and follow-up questions if necessary. We would love for you to participate! Email us at typectoolbox@gmail.com if you are interested!

Here is an outline of the interview: 

  • Type C personality traits include being excessively nice, overly conscientious, taking too much responsibility, avoiding conflict, suppressing difficult emotions, taking on other people’s burdens - which ones resonate with you?

  • How have they affected you in general? Do you think they are hurting you in some way? Are there any stories you want to share where making a Type C decision led to a bad health outcome for you? Bad relationship outcome?

    • School/ work/ career

    • Sleep, alcohol or drug use, eating

    • Physical issues - migraines, stomach issues, fatigue, etc

    • Relationships with kids, partners past and present, friends, work colleagues 

  • Type C seeds are planted in childhood usually, sometimes from harsh criticism or abuse or invalidation, are you comfortable sharing where yours may have originated?

    • Home environment

    • How parents got along

    • How parents treated you

    • Did parents treat you differently than siblings

    • Have you overcome some of these traits over time, and if so, how?

  • Are you better able to say no? What has helped you do this?

  • Are you better able to ask for help? What has helped you do this?

  • Are you able to make time for yourself? Talk about how you do this.
